Why have President Obama, and Democrats, tried to make such a big--lying--point about the Chamber of Commerce running ads against Democrats funded by "foreign money? Yes, even the mainstream media has shown that this is a false charge. Bob Schieffer asked David Axelrod (Obama's right hand man): "Is this all you've got?" on CBS News. Democrats, and Obama, have still tried to press conservative groups--but not leftist and union groups--to disclose their donors, even though the law does not require it. Note that none of these groups is RUNNING FOR OFFICE. But, as Bob Schieffer suggested, this kind of demonization of conservative groups is "all Democrats have". They can't run on their actual policies, or the actual issues. But there is a REASON that Democrats would like to have this information (on donors to independent groups--independent of any candidate). And I was the first one to telly you about this--months ago--before O'Reilly featured in on this program Wednesday night.
Democrats INTIMIDATE--counting, in part, on their expectation of unlimited support from the corrupt mainstream media (an expectation not quite fulfilled this time). Democrats are BULLIES trying to leave the field clear for their groups (including, particularly, public employee unions). Does CNN care about this kind of bulling? Oh, I forgot. CNN is dishonest, and only "cares" when it can pick the victims. Doubt me (as to Democrats, as you can't possibly doubt me on CNN)? Don't.
Target (the company with the discount stores) gave some $150,.000 to a pro-business group in Minnesota to advance a pro-business agenda. Target had a perfect right to do that. Unions are pushing the other side all of the time, as well as groups like MoveOn.org. But this pro-business group gave a political donation to a Minnesota politician who opposed gay marriage, and who leftists said was the "most anti-gay politician in Minnesota" (probably not saying much). Now this Minnesota politician has many other positions besides his position on gay marriage (which also happens to be the President's official position). Those other positions include the type of pro-business positions that Target wanted to promote, and the pro-business group wanted to promote. Indeed, there is no evidence that Target is "anti-gay", since Target has an "excellent" (which annoys me, frankly) record on gay employer issues.
Leftists found out about this donation by the pro-business group, and by Target. What did they do, BULLIES that they are? They did what Obama and leftists have done with Arizona. They tried to PUNISH Target with an economic boycott on the ridiculous idea that Target was promoting "anti-gay" prejudice in the country. This is the article I wrote months ago--highlighting that Yahoo "news" FEATURED the boycott as THE featured picture story on e day (BOYCOTT YAHOO).
The whole purpose of the ridiculous boycott was to BULLY Target, and other corporations, from participating in politics--while leaving unions totally free to do so--for fear of economic retaliation.
So this is not just a matter of trying to deflect attention from the issues--because Democrats have "nothing else". If Democrats can get lists of donors to these conservative groups, they are fully capable of EXTORTION, BLACKMAIL, and BULLYING. The mere threat of what happened to Target might be enough to have a "chilling effect" on people (not just large corporations). Democrats not only want to avoid talking about jobs and the economy, but they want to create a real "enemies list" to attack ("enemies list" being a Nixon-era term).
P.S. Yes, I have advocated a boycott of Yahoo, but that does not make me a hypocrite. In the first place, I have said repeatedly I don't turn the other cheek. If Democrats do it, I am willing to fight fire with fire. More importantly, I have shown--in maybe 20 articles now---that Yahoo "news" is CORRUPT and DISHONEST (because it claims to be a non-political distributor of "news", when it s really a propaganda agent for the Democratic Party and leftists). I did not advocate a boycott of Yahoo because the company took a political position, or donated money. I advocated, and continue to advocate, a boycott of Yahoo because of the CORRUPTION of Yahoo "News".
P.P.S. Why did these same leftist groups not boycott Obama contributors, like Goldman Sachs, because Obama opposses gay marriage? Well, first these leftist groups are dishonest. But, in this case, I don't think almost anyone believes President Obama on this--that he really opposes gay marriage, at least politically (whatever he feels in his "heart"). Gay activists don't believe it. Of course, I am not sure anynoe believes President Obama on anything anymore. But that is another article.
