MSNBC is an extreme, left wing organization--seemingly knowingly and deliberately. You know it; I know it; and they know it. Yes, one of my missions in life has been to show you that CNN, the Associated Press, Yahoo "News', and the rest of the mainstream media are just as left, and just as partisan (making them even more CORRUPT). I don't bother with MSNBC, most of the time, except with passing references, because stating the obvious (unless the obvious is being ignored) is not what I do. I could not, however, let this one pass. I heard it--I don't know how I hear these things--and I have to say that even I was astounded and appalled at how extreme and bitter MSNBC has become (seeing election defeat coming). CNN and the Associated Press still maintain a "journalistic" veneer--false as it is. MSNBC does not. Have I mentioned that Andrea Mitchell is a whore ("journalistically" speaking)? No? Well, I have in multiple articles in the past, and so I will not bother again in this article. Pretend I did not say it.
Chile miners. You know, the "feel good" story of the year--and it is an uplifting story. CNN and Anderson Cooper have overplayed the story shamelessly--as they did Haiti--but it is still a nice story (unlike Haiti). But this article is not about CNN, or the Chile miners. It is about the reaction of Chris Matthews and MSNBC. Chris Matthews actually tried to turn a nice, human interest story into a partisan moment.
Yes, this is (paraphrasing) what Chris Matthews said: "Chile has shown us that people and government can come together to get things done--unlike this country, where so many, like the tea party people and conservative talk radio, obstruct and keep government from acting effectively." I promise you. That is the gist of what he said, and what he meant, whether or not he specifically said "tea party" and "conservative talk radio".
What do Chris Matthews and MSNBC mean by "coming together"? Right. They mean abandoning YOUR principles, and adopting THEIR principles. MSNBC is the most divisive "news organization that has ever existed on this planet--or would be, if anyone paid any attention to them. You will remember that Chris Matthews did not say anything about "coming together" when George W. Bush was President. But, as I have told you again and again, the entire mainstream media are the greatest hypocrites to have ever walked the Earth, on two legs or four. And the people of MSNBC, like Chris Matthews, are more hypocritical even than the rest. It really helps us "come together", doesn't it, to try to make the Chile miners into a partisan political issue?
Yes, if you want to dra2w a lesson from Chile (which I don't think is appropriate), you should draw the lesson that Chile evidently has a COMPETENT administration, while we do not. You don't think so? Think again. Look again at the Gulf oil spill, where report after report shows the abject failure of the Obama Administration to get on top of the "crisis" (ending with the economic disaster of that truly stupid, and illegal, oil drilling "moratorium". More jobs lost, courtesy of Obama. 462,000 were lost by Obama last week alone (the new unemployment claims reported on Thursday for the previous week).
"But Skip, you are as partisan as MSNBC." No, actually I am not. Just as I am not really as partisan as Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, and I don't think even they are as partisan as MSNBC. Fox News is not even close, despite its faults. What I have is a point of view, based on the principles I have. Further, I tell you what that point of view is. MSNBC is simply dishonest, and partisan in the way represented by the "politics of personal destruction". MSNBC is pure propaganda, without any veneer at all. I, for example, would tell you--in 2006, with foresight rather than hindsight--that I was disowning President Bush, and that I thought every single Republican Senator deserved to be defeated. I would repeat the same statements in 2008. And I would not support John McCain, although I would not support Obama either. I don't look at the world entirely through the partisan glasses of propaganda, as MSNBC does. Yes, MSNBC will "criticize" Obama "from the left", but it is still all leftist propaganda--with no independent thinking involved.
Doubt me? Look again at how Chris Matthews tried to "spin" the Chile mine rescue.
